What if a homeowner could get a ballpark price for a new HVAC system before they ever even picked up the phone?
Now they can.
We just launched CoolQuote, Superpath's new instant quoting tool for HVAC websites. And if you're already a Superpath HVAC client, it's available to you right now at no additional cost.
What Is CoolQuote?
CoolQuote lives directly on your website and walks homeowners through a few simple questions about their home, their current system, and what they need help with. From there, they get a general price range based on their specific needs.
And no, this isn't supposed to replace an actual in-home estimate. The idea is to remove some of the friction that happens before a homeowner ever contacts you.
A lot of homeowners want to know, "What is this actually going to cost me?" before they're ready to fill out a form or make a phone call. CoolQuote gives them an answer while keeping them on your website.
That can mean more website conversions and better-qualified leads because, by the time someone reaches your team, they already have a better idea of what they're looking for and what the investment might look like.
Why Pricing Transparency Matters
There's also another reason pricing transparency is becoming more important. Homeowners are increasingly asking tools like ChatGPT and other AI search platforms questions about HVAC companies, equipment, and, most importantly, pricing.
Those tools pull information from across the internet. So if you aren't providing useful pricing information yourself, AI tools might pull information from customers who have left reviews or comments on social media that mention things about your pricing, whether they're really accurate or not.
Instead, you can seize the opportunity to help shape the pricing conversation with information directly from your company.
How CoolQuote Works for Homeowners
So, how does CoolQuote actually work for a homeowner visiting your HVAC website? It's pretty simple, consisting of three steps.
Step 1: Contact Information and Comfort Needs
Step one requests the homeowner's contact information, including their name, phone number, and email address.
Here, the homeowner also has the ability to choose options such as indicating if they have hot or cold spots in their home, if they'd like a lower monthly bill, if they suffer from allergies or asthma, and if they are the homeowner.
These options are designed to indicate typical upsells in the HVAC sales process. Hot or cold spots could indicate the need for ductwork. A desire for a lower monthly bill could mean recommending a more efficient, higher-SEER-rated system. If the homeowner suffers from allergies or asthma, they may need indoor air quality treatments.
Step 2: Home and HVAC System Details
We start step two by collecting the homeowner's location information. Pretty standard stuff.
The next screen confirms the homeowner's address, complete with a Google Map, to make sure everything looks right.
Next, the homeowner chooses the kind of system they need help with: heating only, cooling only, or heating and cooling.
The next screen prompts the homeowner to indicate the size of their space, ranging from small, at 0 to 1,500 square feet; medium, at 1,500 to 3,000 square feet; or large, at 3,000 square feet and up.
After choosing a size, the homeowner is asked where their indoor unit is located, including an option to indicate that they aren't sure where it is.
From there, the homeowner is presented with a review screen, giving them a chance to make sure everything looks correct.
Step 3: Good, Better, and Best Recommendations
Once the homeowner confirms everything, we move on to step three, where CoolQuote crunches the numbers.
Based on your specific CoolQuote setup and configuration, the homeowner is presented with good, better, and best recommendations based on the information they've provided.
On this screen, the homeowner has the option of booking an in-home visit. You, as the business owner, will also receive a notification that someone has requested a quote even if they didn't book a visit, letting your team reach out to the homeowner to discuss their needs and get them booked.
CoolQuote isn't designed to replace an official in-home quote. It's designed to better qualify leads, help increase website conversions, and get a head start on conversations over the phone or in person.
